TL-18QVP advantages for quilters.
The TL-18QVP has the following advantages that the TL-2010Q does not have.
The height of the presser foot can be changed by turning the (micro-lifter) dial. This is a significant advantage for easier free-motion quilting, making it easier for sewing over seams.
The Juki TL-18QVP's float function (micro-lifter) allows the presser foot to lift slightly (0-2mm) above the fabric using a dial, preventing uneven feeding or stretched stitches on thick materials like quilts, denim, or velvet, and helps with smooth free-motion quilting by reducing drag significantly. It is an industrial-style feature for controlling fabric flow over bulky seams or layers, and you activate it by adjusting the dial, with the red marker indicating the highest lift, while tightening the dial fully turns the function off.
